This big, bold statement necklace was handcrafted slowly over several weeks time. Each Overgrowth link was formed one spore at a time. Sterling wire is formed into rings, cut, filed, and soldered into place. The links are then string together and each tiny jump ring is soldered shut to ensure a product that lasts a lifetime. The showstopper of this piece is the gorgeous micro-webbed Number 8 Turquoise stone at the center of everything. It has a classic turquoise blue-green tone and multi-tonal webbing creating a great amount of interest. Three hollow Overgrowth spores offset the stone and balance the piece. Tree bark texture was added to the sides and back of the pendant and each link was given a subtle texture. These textures hold in the dark patina that allows for the necklace to have an aged, weathered appearance even though it is polished to a bright shine. The back of the necklace is pulled together with double rope gains on each side. This allows for comfort and helps the Overgrowth links to sit properly around the neck. The custom links and clasp tie the whole piece together and allow you to
adjust the necklace from 18-20”.
